Blast from the past

I went out to West Virginia this week and visited my parents for the first time in about 10 years. While I was there I dug out my old Commodore computer equipment.
Surprisingly I found that it was all still in the original boxes and so I brought it home inboxes it and powered it on today. It works just like when it was new. The first game disk I put in it worked which was more surprising for me than the fact that it came on.
The disks and system have been stored for more than 30 years in a hot attic space. They new how to make things that lasted in the early 1980s. I even have most of the original purchase reciepts for the system. I really can’t wait to play some of the classic games and see if I can get it online with a custom serial to us library. I think it would be just awesome to connect via ssh to my modern HPC system from this old beast.
